About Me
I'm Jason Lane — a senior fullstack engineer with 15+ years of professional experience building products across fintech, e-commerce, and SaaS. I started writing websites as a teenager, building a local show directory for the punk scene on Long Island. The web hooked me immediately.
Since then I've gone deep across the stack — from architecting Go microservices and wrangling Kubernetes clusters, to building React and Svelte frontends, to shipping Django backends. Currently I'm a Senior Fullstack Engineer at Wagmo, a pet insurance company, where I work across Python/Django, React/Next.js/TypeScript, Go microservices, and infrastructure on AWS + GCP inside a Turborepo monorepo.
I care about systems that are simple to reason about, fast to iterate on, and pleasant for the people who use them. I'm equally comfortable in a pull request as I am in a design review or architecture meeting.
Lately I've been going deep on AI agents and the Model Context Protocol — contributing to and running OpenClaw, a self-hosted AI familiar framework, and writing about the practical reality of working with AI coding tools over on Medium. Not vibes-based AI hype — the actual mechanics of memory, tooling, MCP servers, and shipping work with agents in the loop.
